"Lady Dior - As seen by"

Die Lady Dior Bag umgibt schon immer eine unnahbare, unerreichbare Aura (für die meisten Frazuen zumindest). Meist thront sie in tiefem schwarz, glänzend im Schaufenster, auf einem opulenten Stuhl, als wüsste sie genau, dass sie die Königin des Modehauses Dior ist. Die silbernen Monogramanhänger, elegant wie ein Diamantendiadem, schmücken ihre vollendete Grazie.
Eine Lady mit Geschichte
Das der "Lady Dior" tatsächlich etwas königliches anhaftet, liegt nicht nur an ihrem Design, sondern auch an ihrer Geschichte. Als neuste Kreation von Dior, wurde sie 1995 von der damaligen Französischen First Lady Bernadette Chirac als Geschenk auf einem Empfang mit der Lady aller Ladys, Diana Princess of Wales, überreicht. Diana war dermaßen angetan, dass die gesteppte Handtasche von da an ihr stetiger Begleiter, und der Name "Lady Dior" geboren war.
Aber nur die Lieblingshandtasche einer echten Prinzessin zu sein, macht die "Lady Dior" noch nicht zu einer Majestät. Ihren unverwechselbaren Look erhält sie durch ihre gesteppte Oberfläche. Inspiration dafür war übrigens der Stuhl von Napoleon dem dritten. Ein großer, kleiner Mann, der die edle Tacshe sicherlich auch seiner modebewussten Gemahlin Eugenie de Montijo zu Füßen gelegt hätte.
Einer solchen It-Bag-Ikone kann man nur Tribut zollen. Dior tut dies nun mit einem außergewöhnlichen Projekt. Die Geschichte, das Design und nicht zuletzt die Tasche selbst, wurden unter dem Thema "Lady Dior - As Seen by" von Künstlern und Fotografen auf verschiedene Weise interpretiert. Die Lady war unter anderem Muse und Fotomodel für Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, Alec Scort, David Lynch und Arne Quinze. Die verschiedenen Stile, Ideen und Realisationen zeigen spannenden und überraschend ladylike Blickwinkel auf eine ganz besonderen Handtasche.

Kohei Nawa: “Kohei Nawa obtains objects through internet auctions and transforms them into artworks. In his Beads series, the surface of the three-dimensional subject is covered in transparent crystal beads, meaning that as a physical object it is replaced entirely by a kind of "light shell."
