Softkinetic is company offering time-of-flight sensors for hand and body recognition. They can scan from a distance of .15 cm up to 4.5 m http://www.softkinetic.com/products/dep ... meras.aspx Has anybody got his hands on such a device? Are they capable of 3D scanning? |

I found this YouTube video. It was taken at the CES show 2014. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OGrwYZIwKlU In a November 2013 forum post, Skanect said that the Softkinetic sensor was not adequate. "We do not currently support Softkinetic cameras. The current generation was not designed for scanning and thus does not give very good results, but we are always open to supporting new cameras if they prove suitable for scanning." The scan looks pretty good on the video. There are lots of people who don't have a primesense scanner and who could use an alternative sensor. Does anybody know who may have software that runs the Softkinetic sensor? |
