You can do all necessary steps in Artec Studio. You should try to scan not just, for example, the face, but the whole head in one scan. In my case, I generally do 2 scans. One of the whole body and one of just the head. Then, I use the align tool in AS and fuse both scans to one single objects. Fianally, you can use the mesh simplification, to reduce the polygone count. You can do all of this in AS. |

That would be the best thing, to do the most in fewest attempts. The problem with this Artec scanner is that you can not keep them turned on for more than 30 sec. So, pieces after pieces.. Scanning a persone is a rather long procedure. I would prefer 100 times using a kinect, as the amount of data recorded is less, so, no heat, but this Artec Software version only allows Artec scanners to play with. It's the 0.7 version. Thanks |

You can get the trail version for free and test it with your Artec Scanner. I think they improved the software a lot since version 0.7 Does your scanner interrupt the scanning process due to overheated image processor? |

Yes it does Bern.. It's written on the bottom of the scanner. Usage/resting time: 3/7. It seems like I can use it for 3 minutes and then I have to stop it.... I am wondering wether is a software or an -hardware problem. I am also wondering wether the EVA has the same limit. I saw you trying one, what can you say? |

I have never experienced such an issue with Spider or Eva. However, My longest scanning process was about 5 Minutes ![]() |
