We all read about taping +2.5 glasses in front of the Carmine 1.09 scanner to get awesome scans. Unfortunately, in my case, this solution taped the color camera and I lost the textures ... until now!

VirtuSpecs is building on the mod published by MagWeb at: http://reconstructme.net/2012/03/18/gallery-update-2/

Using this idea to modify needs to mention where it came from:

It looks like you ground a third lens for the color camera. Am I seeing that correctly, or is
that a blank opening?

@Scantastic

I made three lenses. The IR projector and both cameras got their own lens.

Thanks for sharing such useful information. I am from HK but can't find the way to buy Carmine 1.09 locally. Would you please let me know where to buy?
I want to scan people's upper torso and print 3D figures in about 6" tall. I believed Carmine 1.09 & Skanect are the good choice as per your recent billiant works.
I am new to 3D scan and printing. Wish it is not a very difficult task.

Hello Bernhard and all forum members, much impressed by your work in the field of 3d scanning and printing, the Carmine 1.09 with 'VirtuSpecs' produces great results, I've just put an order in for one! Unfortunately I don't have access to a 3d printer so wonder if you or any other forum members might be willing to print a copy of the 'VirtuSpecs' or point me in the direction of anyone who has the means to do so. I am of course willing to pay for the service but would rather deal with a 'maker' than one of the big companies

Hi Scantastic, I'm in the UK so I'm thinking a print from UK or EU would be best so as to minimise shipping and avoid customs charges.
